A Los Angeles substitute teacher was caught verbally taunting a group of minority middle school students last week. The educator has since been fired after a recording surfaced, stating that the students’ parents will be deported by President-elect Donald Trump, leaving them within the foster care system.
“If you were born here, then your parents gotta go, and they gonna leave you behind. You’ll be in foster care,” claimed the now former Bret Harte Preparatory Middle School teacher, according to a recording gathered by CBS.
A mother to one of the harassed students, Jennifer Reynaga, said, “I would think the kids would do it, but I never thought a teacher would do it.” The Reynaga family had a hand in turning over the student’s cellphone recordings to school authorities.
When Reynaga’s 11-year-old daughter asked how Trump would find them, the unidentified teacher answered, “I have your phone numbers, your address, your mama’s address, your daddy’s address. It’s all in the system, sweetie.”
The southern L.A. school immediately fired the physical education teacher after the recordings surfaced, a parent told CBS.
