As protesters take to the streets in the wake of the released dash cam video footage revealing the murder of 17 year old Laquan McDonald, many in Chicago are still mourning the death of little Tyshawn Lee who was lured into an alley and killed due to his father’s gang ties.
Chicago CBS news has reported a person of interest, Corey Morgan, was free on a $1 Million bond after his girlfriend posted the necessary 10%. The seven-figure bond drew a reaction from the courtroom but no less than 48 hours later, Morgan was free.
Morgan’s girlfriend received a large court settlement against a hospital and posted the $100,000. As it stands now, Morgan, 27, only faces a possession of a firearm by a felon charge.
The death of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee drew national attention. According to reports, the grade school student, who enjoyed basketball, was shot at close range and the basketball he carried with him everyday was found near his body.
