A Utah woman is being held by police on an attempted murder charge after police say she gave her boyfriend Drano to help put him into “eternal sleep.”
According to reports, Elle Weissman, 43, fetched the cleaning fluid after her partner was semi-unconscious from taking a sedative on April 29. Police say, she told the 50-year-old she was giving him medicine.
However, after the man drank the cleaning fluid, Weissman called a car service and took him to a local urgent care facility. It was there she told those on staff what she did and law enforcement was called.
After police arrived, Weissman confessed her actions after her Miranda Rights were read and specified that “eternal sleep” meant death. She did not, however, provide a motive as to why she wanted to kill her boyfriend.
The victim is reportedly alive and remained in the hospital until Thursday.
Weissman is being held at the Salt Lake County Adult Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. She’s been charged with surreptitious administering of a certain substance, along with attempted murder.
