Kid Rock has been relieved of his duties as Grand Marshall of Nashville’s forthcoming Christmas parade. The controversial musician appeared on Fox & Friends Friday (Nov. 30) and called The View co-host Joy Behr a “b*tch.”
The 47-year-old guitarist lamented over the backlash some face when expressing an opinion not considered politically correct.
“God forbid you say something a little bit wrong — you’re racist, homophobic, Islamophobic. … People need to calm down, get a little less politically correct, and, I would say love everybody,” Kid Rock, real name Robert James Ritchie said. “Except I’d say screw that Joy Behar b*tch, everybody but that.”
The comment got him booted from the parade, and his replacement is Waffle House hero James Shaw Jr, who in April wrestled an AR-15 from shooter Travis Reinking. Shaw often deflects the hero title stating his actions were purely for self.
“I don’t really know, when everyone said that, it feels selfish,” Shaw Jr. said. “I was just trying to get myself out. I saw the opportunity and pretty much took it.”
Rock later apologized for the “language, not the sentiment.” Rock’s rep told Vanity Fair’s he’d still attend the parade.
Upon hearing Kid Rock’s comment, Behr extended an olive branch. “This b*tch, and these b*tches, would be happy to have you on the show and have a beer.”
No word on whether or not Kid Rock will take Behr up on her offer.
