Given all of the stellar acts set to rock SXSW 2016 later this month, these two names will certainly stop everyone in their tracks once the time comes.
The annual festival revealed that President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will participate in two separate keynote addresses on “civic engagement in the 21st century,” and assist with promotion of the Let Girls Learn campaign which seeks to “break barriers for the 62 million girls around the world who are not in school today, more than half of whom are adolescent,” the site reads.
President Obama will launch his talk on March 11, while Mrs. Obama will discuss her initiative on March 16.
“As each new generation comes up at SXSW they look for ways they can be of service, and it’s important to reflect and support that message,” Co-founder Roland Swenson said in a statement. “President and Mrs. Obama’s visit here will inspire attendees to that purpose.”
