Bill Clinton held nothing back while speaking with reporters from The Record-Review, a weekly paper that caters to the clusters of towns in Westchester County where the Clintons reside.
The former president associated Hillary Clinton’s presidential defeat to FBI Director James Comey, but also said Donald Trump tapped into the angry white man vote, which secured his presidency.
“One thing he does know is how to get angry white men to vote for him,” Clinton said.
According to The New York Daily News, items on the agenda included Russian meddling in the election, which Clinton frankly said didn’t take a rocket science to see was happening. “You would need to have a single-digit IQ not to recognize what was going on.” Other topics included Comey, just days before voters headed to the polls, reopening the investigation into Clinton’s private emails.
News of the interview was made public on Monday (Dec. 19) when members of the Electoral College in all 50 states and the District of Columbia come together to formally elect Donald Trump as president. While it’s highly unlikely an overturn will take place to declare Clinton as president, it hasn’t stopped many online from hoping.
Remember: we won the popular vote by almost 3 million votes & we didn’t need help from a foreign country in order to do so. #Dec19

Yet, despite Clinton acknowledging Trump’s ability to cater to the angry white male voter, he did offer his opinion on his capacity to lead.
[He] doesn’t know much,” Clinton added.
