Don Lemon is making some bold statements in light of the recent terror attacks happening around the nation. During a news segment late Monday (Oct. 29), the CNN anchor declared that white men were the “biggest terror threat” in the country.
“I keep trying to point out to people and not to demonize any one group or any one ethnicity,” Lemon said. “But we keep thinking that the biggest terror threat is something else, someone people who are marching, you know, towards the border, like it’s imminent.”
He continued: “And the last time they did this, a couple hundred people came and they — you know, most of them did get into the country, most of them tired– you know, got tuckered out before they made it to the border. So, we have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them.”
The anchor also noted that if there is a ban on Muslims, there should also be a ban on white men. “There is no travel ban on them,” he stated. “There is no ban on — you know, they had the Muslim ban. There is no white guy ban.”
Lemon is referring to the recent hate crimes inflicted by white men around the country. His “travel ban” comment is referring to Trump’s 2017 ban, which prevents U.S. citizens from traveling to and from five Muslim-based countries. The Supreme Court upheld the ban in June 2018 with a 5-4 vote.
