On day two of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, (July 26) it was South Dakota’s delegation votes that locked in the nomination for Clinton, who is now one step closer to becoming America’s first female president. Clinton supporters took to social media quickly after the announcement was made to Tweet their praise for her, which came in waves.

The former first lady, New York Senator and Secretary State will formally accept the party’s nomination Thursday. And as Clinton does her best to unite the Democratic party, some still ripe with frustration over Bernie Sanders not earning the nomination, Sanders addressed the convention and moved for Clinton to formally hold the nomination.
“I move that Hillary Clinton be selected as the nominee of the Democratic Party for President of the United States.”
