As the world waits to see if Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, will be the next U.S. president, some voters are paying homage to history with the hashtag #IVotedBecause.
The hashtag became a worldwide trending topic early Tuesday (Nov. 8), coupling a bi-partisan platform with a quick journey through black voting rights.
While America has yet to expunge its reputation of racial oppression, which includes ongoing examples of voter suppression (despite the Voting Rights Act of 1965), #IVotedBecause offers a sobering reminder of a not-so-distant past.
