After a disgusting racist comment was made on Facebook towards Michelle Obama by Clay County Development Corp director, Pamela Ramsey Taylor of West Virginia, due to a derogatory response from Clay County’s mayor, Beverly Whaling; the latter has now resigned. And it’s very likely that Taylor is also out of a job, reports the Associated Press.
“It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House. I’m tired of seeing a ape in heels,” wrote Taylor. In response to the post, Whaling commented, “Just made my day Pam.”

Taylor apologized for the insensitive remark towards FLOTUS on Monday (Nov. 14). Yet, according to local officials, both women have been threatened for their racist banter. In a statement to the Washington Post, Whaling said, “My comment was not intended to be racist at all. I was referring to my day being made for change in the White House! I am truly sorry for any hard feeling this may have caused! Those who know me know that I’m not of any way racist! Again, I would like to apologize for this getting out of hand!”
The director of the NAACP chapter in West Virginia, Owens Brown, expressed his distaste for the two women’s actions. “I feel so it’s unfortunate that people still have these racist undertones,” he lamented. “Unfortunately, this is a reality that we are dealing with in America today. There’s no place for these types of attitudes in our state.”
