Michael Bloomberg, the former mayor for New York City, is set to speak at the Democratic National Convention in order to endorse Hillary Clinton for president, The Hollywood Reporter states. According to Marc LaVorgna, Bloomberg is slated to make his endorsement on Wednesday night (July 27).
Earlier this year, the former mayor and billionaire announced that he would not run as a third party candidate for the 2016 presidential election due to the likelihood of taking away votes from Clinton would ensure Republican candidate Donald Trump a seamless transition into the oval office.
Not one to bite his tongue on political issues, Bloomberg has been extremely outspoken of his views of Trump as a presidential candidate. As a registered Republican, Bloomberg’s criticism of Donald Trump echoes the sentiments expressed by the Republican party as a whole, with many political figures chastising his racist, xenophobic and misogynistic rhetoric.
