During his latest White House address, President Obama diplomatically and respectfully called out Donald Trump, stating the Republican presidential nominee is “woefully unprepared” to be the leader of the free world.
“Yes, I think the Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president,” Obama said. “I said so last week and he keeps on proving it.”
Just hours before the President and The First Lady would greet Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Mrs. Lee of Singapore, Obama didn’t hold back when speaking of Trump’s documented remarks about minorities, and what he thinks is his lack of knowledge of world issues.
“The notion that he would attack a Gold-star family, that had made such extraordinary sacrifices on behalf of our country; the fact that he doesn’t appear to have basic knowledge around critical issues in Europe, in the Middle East in Asia means that he’s woefully unprepared to do this job.”
Obama, who intentionally doesn’t mention Trump by name, further cemented his belief of Trump by noting (with a slight grin) the many Republicans who also don’t think Trump is qualified.
“And this is not just my opinion. I think what’s been interesting is the repeated denunciations of his statements by leading Republicans, including the speaker of the House, and the senate majority leader and prominent Republicans like John McCain,” Obama said. “And the question I think that they have to ask themselves if you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable why are you still endorsing him?
