Snoop Dogg will bring all his Long Beach love to the Democratic National Convention when he performs at the Unity Party in Philly later this month. Held at Philadelphia’s Electric Factory July 28, Snoop D-O-Double G will headline the fundraising event, according to Billboard.
It’s no surprise Snoop will grace the stage at the DNC post party. His support for Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee was made public in May 2015 when he spoke with Bravo’s Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live!
“You know I like to be politically correct, but sometimes I’m politically incorrect,” Snoop said. “But I’ll say that I would love to see a woman in office because I feel like we’re at that stage in life to where we need a perspective other than the male’s train of thought,” he continued. “And just to have a woman speaking from a global perspective as far as representing America, I’d love to see that. So I’ll be voting for Ms. Clinton.”
News of Snoop Dogg’s headlining performance comes on the heels of Clinton hitting the campaign trail with President Obama Tuesday (July 5) in North Carolina. As Clinton praised Obama for his outstanding work as a leader for the past seven years, Obama matter of factly stated he’s more than ready to “pass the baton” to his former secretary of state.
