As VIBE reported Monday (April 20) Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather doesn’t believe Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson–two of boxing greatest athletes and talents–are better than him.
“No one can ever brainwash me to make me believe that Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali was better than me,” he said to Stephen A Smith during ESPN’s First Take. “No one could ever brainwash me and tell me that.”
Many who heard Mayweather’s comments weren’t here for it and urged Power 105.1’s Charlamagne Tha God to make him Tuesday’s (April 21) Donkey of The Day.
Charlamagne said while he disagrees with the 38-year-old boxer’s comments, that wasn’t enough to make him Donkey of The Day. What did help Mayweather earn the title was his belief that the racism Ali and Robinson endured during their prime is the same as today.
“There was a difference between 1950’s Kentucky where Muhammad Ali grew up and 2015 Las Vegas where Floyd Mayweather currently resides,” Charlamagne said “Let’s keep it basic, Floyd Mayweather. Have you ever been sprayed with a high powered water hose? You ever been attacked by a German Shepard?”
Charlamagne goes in and lights Mayweather up. Listen to the four minute audio above.
