Allen Iverson has been synonymous with hip-hop since the beginning of his career. Many say he’s responsible for bringing a hip-hop influence to the NBA with his signature style on and off the court, in addition to having a relationship with many of the best hip-hop had to offer. The Source caught up with Allen Iverson during an event commemorating his 20 years with Reebok.
In the short interview, A.I. paid homage to a few 90’s legends with his top three rappers of all-time designating Tupac, Biggie Smalls, and Redman with the honor. The Answer thanked a few of the artists mentioned during his recent Hall-of-Fame induction speech saying, “I wanna thank Biggie Smalls, Redman, Jadakiss, Tupac and Michael Jackson for being my theme music throughout my career.”

Iverson broke down barriers during his playing days and faced much harsh criticism and unwarranted controversy throughout, but always prided himself on getting things done his way. There will never be another Allen Iverson. The greatest pound for pound player ever.
