Even though he signed a $124 million contract a few years ago and is one of the NBA’s wealthiest players, Carmelo Anthony is still dreaming very big. Like many other people in the United States, the Knicks’ small forward has been trying his luck and purchasing tickets for the biggest Powerball jackpot drawing in history, which is currently set at $1.5 billion.
“I don’t think I’m going to ever get hit by an asteroid,” he said when asked by reporters Monday (Jan. 11). “I don’t think I’m ever going to be President. I might have a better chance to win Powerball.”
Instead of possibly buying the team from Knicks owner James Dolan if he’s got the golden ticket, Anthony says that he plans on sharing his winnings with others, the New York Daily News reports. According to Baller Status, Anthony, like the rest of us, has a 1 in 292.2 million chance of winning when the lucky numbers are drawn on Wednesday. Good luck Chuck.
