The Golden State Warriors are torching everything in its path this 2015-16 season as the Dubs come off of a championship win with a vengeance. But though this may seem a bit intimidating to others in the league, Charles Barkley isn’t quite sold on this young, sharp shooting team. After sharing how he thought that jump-shooting teams weren’t championship material (and even after the Warriors proved that theory wrong), Chuck is still sticking to his guns, but this time around from a different angle as he throws the 72-win 1995-96 Bulls into the mix.
“That Bulls team would kill this little team,” Barkley told ESPN Radio on Thursday (Dec. 17). “Come on, man. Who is going to guard Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan? What about Dennis Rodman? Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman – let me just start with those three. First of all they would love playing the way the Warriors play. It’s a much easier game now. Could you imagine how many points Michael would average if you couldn’t touch him? Dennis would get so many rebounds against that team. They are a very small team.”
Given that the NBA was a much more tougher league back in the Jordan and Pippen days, it would seem like a heavy hitter for the Warriors or any current team to deal with. But hey, can’t discredit the young fellas.
