Game 7, there is truly nothing better in the world. This is what sports at its core is all about. Tuesday night (Nov. 1), the Chicago Cubs offense finally exploded for nine runs to even the World Series at three games a piece and force a Game 7 after the 9-3 drubbing of the Indians in Cleveland.

For Chicago, does the 108-year drought finally end? It would be poetic justice and complete hysteria in Wrigleyville. In Cleveland, will it be another sweet victory, where the Cavaliers came all the way back from a 3-1 deficit against the Warriors just five months ago to win the NBA Finals?

Addison Russell crushed a Dan Otero pitch an estimated 435 feet, extending Chicago’s lead to 7-0 and putting the game out of reach. Russell’s six R.B.I. tied the single game World Series record. Aroldis Chapman closed the door on an Indian comeback, forcing game 7 with a 9-3 victory.

After a combined 176-year drought between the foes, what’s one more day? Everyone wanted a game 7, and we finally got it. Ratings for the FOX broadcast should be through the roof, with first pitch scheduled for shortly after 8 p.m. EST.

Indians ace Corey Kluber, who dominated games 1 and 4, will start again on short rest Wednesday night (Nov. 2), against ERA leader, Kyle Hendricks. This has November classic written all over it.
One franchise’s elongated drought will end in celebration, while the other will be left in agony. As Kanye West put it, “Welcome To Heartbreak.”
