After 52 years, the city of Cleveland — or the state of Ohio for that matter — can rejoice in the fact that their national basketball team is bringing home the Larry O’Brien trophy.
The Cleveland Cavaliers took the title on Sunday (June 19) after defeating the former champs, Golden State Warriors (92-89) in Game 7. Engulfed with emotion, the team’s forefront players including LeBron James and J.R. Smith’s eyes were filled with tears of joy.
Now, the franchise can walk down the streets of “Believeland” to celebrate the momentous ocassion.
