San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is pledging not guilty for recent sexual assault allegations that have surfaced against him. The NFL star voiced his innocence on Twitter Friday (April 11) after TMZ broke news that he was allegedly roughed up a woman earlier this month in Miami after offering her drinks and weed. While police have yet to release specifics about the alleged incident, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette and 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton were reportedly questioned about the assault as well. See Kaepernick’s official statement on the matter via his timeline below.
(1/3) The charges made in the TMZ story and other stories I’ve seen are completely wrong. They make things up about me that never happened.

(2/3) I take great pride in who I am and what I do, but I guess sometimes you have to deal with someone who makes things up.

(3/3) I want to thank all of the people who have shared their encouraging sentiments. I assure you that your faith is not misplaced.
