The Cincinnati Bengals’ Devon Still has chronicled his daughter Leah’s battle against cancer after she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma last year. After learning that the cancer had gone into remission back in March, Leah was scheduled to undergo a stem cell transplant, to help promote healthy bone marrow and lower the risk of relapse. Much to the NFL defensive tackle’s dismay, his five-year-old has hit another hurdle after a complication with the procedure.

Still took to Instagram to ask his followers to pray for Leah, sharing that she is now suffering from veno-occlusive disease, a blocking of blood vessels in the liver that can occur in stem cell transplant patients:
I need some prayers sent up for Leah tonight! We hit a pretty serious complication from the stem cell transplant called VOD. They caught it early so hopefully it gives the doctors a better chance of stopping it from getting aggressive. As you can imagine our minds are all over the place but we’re going to try and remain positive! #LeahStrong#WaitingForTheDayEverythingReturnsToNormal
Leah’s transplant was expected to last four to six weeks, and was begun back in May. Take a look at their latest battle together below:
