Either Dwyane Wade is the smartest gift giver, or the cheapest. Who knows?
As Kobe Bryant’s illustrious career nears its end, Black Mamba has been the recipient of an outpouring of support and love from fans and fellow athletes. During his final All-Star game in Toronto, D-Wade decided to gift his friend with an early retirement gift. No, it wasn’t a Rolls Royce or a yacht. Instead the shooting guard gave Bryant a Netflix subscription.
The gesture does make sense since Bryant will now have a lot more free time on his hands, it just comes across unexpected being as thought Wade and Bryant make so much money.
According to the Bleacher Report, during All-Star Weekend, a special dinner was held dubbed the Gentlemen’s Supper Club where Wade and a few other NBA greats attended and gave Bryant with retirement gifts. Wade’s gift wasn’t the only peculiar one. Chris Paul of the Clippers reportedly gave number 24 a cane, a compression sock, reading glasses and and dental adhesive.
Carmel Anthony, obviously the only with a little bit of home training, gave the 37-year-old a magnum of Gaja Barbaresco wine as a way to pay homage to his Italian ties.
Gotta love your boys.
