Nah, Lil Wayne and Lupe Fiasco weren’t the first rappers to fall in love with skateboarding. The asphalt and hip-hop culture dates back, at least, to the iconic N.W.A. member Eazy-E.
Legendary skateboarder Stevie Williams announced this week that his AYC clothing company will collaborate with Mike Miller for a limited edition of t-shirts featuring the Compton rapper holding his Natas skateboard outside of his Ruthless Records office.
“Back then skating and Hip-Hop did not mix,” Mike Miller said the promo clip for the new collection.
Eazy E’s son, Lil E continued: “The world doesn’t know, but us inner city Compton kids in the early age of life, enjoyed the sport on the skateboard my father gave me. I learned how to skate from him.”
