While in New York City for a promotional tour of his upcoming match against UFC’s Conor McGregor, boxer Floyd Mayweather visited the Bronx’s 46 Precinct (July 15) to pay his respects to murdered NYPD Officer Miosotis Familia, the New York Daily News reports.
Standing alongside a photo of the mother of three, the image was posted on Twitter by a former FDNY paramedic named Vincenzo Marc. On July 5, Familia was shot in the head by a 34-year-old man named Alexander Bonds while she was stationed inside of her police vehicle. The Daily News states he had a history of “mental health issues.” Familia, 48, aspired to become a detective.
“She loved to help people and she was very happy,” Familia’s mother, Adriana Valoy, said. “Everything with her was laughter. She was an inspiration to all her brothers and sisters.”
