As Las Vegas preps for the “Fight of the Century” between boxing champs, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, the media is keeping busy, keeping tabs on the two fighters.
First up, Money Team captain, Mayweather, will reportedly shell out $10 million for Suge Knight’s bail. Recall that Knight has been holed up in L.A. County Jail stemming from hit-and-run charges filed in January and struggling with his court appearances. According to New York Daily News, Knight pled not guilty to murder at his follow-up arraignment on Thursday (April 30) and received a July 7 trial date.
Now, his buddy, Mayweather, is expected to bail him out after the May 2 bout. “My understanding is that Suge is going to be bailed out this coming week,” Knight’s lawyer Matthew Fletcher told NYDN. “We think Mr. Mayweather is going to win the championship and then come champion the day again. They’re good friends, and there’s no reason he shouldn’t. And we believe that will happen.”
Meanwhile, Mayweather’s team called on state officials to check Pacquiao’s (wait for it) cup. Apparently, Floydy was concerned that Pacman’s cup would cover more than just his groin area and protect him from (Mayweather’s fav!) body blows. CBS Sports reports that the Nevada State Athletic Commission proceeded to check Pacman’s cup. Here’s the photo to prove it:

Mayweather and Pacquiao will bump gloves and rock pre-approved cups at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand this Saturday.
