The Jacksonville Jaguars have a new owner, and now they have a new logo.
The Jaguars new logo debuted today, a sleeker, leaner looking jungle cat for a “new era,” as new owner Shad Khan called it.
“If the Jacksonville Jaguars are truly to experience a rebirth, it was time for a new logo,” Khan said. “Not a radical change. We wanted to find the right look that was faithful to the past and respects the players and the fans, and also bring unmistakably a new energy to the Jaguars franchise. Our new symbol for a new generation.”
The Jaguars new logo is one of several changes the franchise has undergone in recent months. They will also be playing a series of regular season games in London, and have made front office and coaching changes as well. The team has floundered in recent years, but was one of the most successful expansion franchises in history, making several playoff trips and an AFC Championship trip early in team history.
