After it was announced Justin Timberlake will perform during Super Bowl LII’s Pepsi Halftime show in February, many took to Twitter to express their anger that Timberlake gets to return to the Super Bowl stage and Janet Jackson does not. The #JusticeForJanet hashtag quickly populated on the social network with many demanding the NFL apologize to Jackson.

In a statement to EW, spokesperson for the NFL said Janet Jackson can perform at the Super Bowl. “There’s no ban.”
However there was no talk of Timberlake bringing any guests with him to perform either. Whether a performer brings out a surprise guest has always been a toss up. During last year’s Super Bowl Halftime show, Lady Gaga performed solo, while Coldplay brought out Bruno Mars and Beyonce the year prior.
But even if Timberlake asked Jackson to perform with him, do you think she should? Sound off in the comments below.
