Kobe Bryant has just finished up his final NBA season, and if he thought retirement would be relaxing he was poorly mistaken. Tuesday (July 12), the Black Mamba announced via Instagram he and his wife Vanessa are expecting another baby. The couple, who already have two girls are now expecting a third baby girl.
Bryant mentioned a couple weeks before his final game he was looking forward to having extra time to spend with his family. After playing 20 years in the NBA, the legendary shooting guard realized he hadn’t spent as much time as he wanted with his two daughters, Natalia and Gianna, but plans on making it up to them now that he is retired from playing ball.
“They understand the concept that this is something that I’ve been doing since I was 3,” he said. “This is my entire life…It’s like, ‘Dad’s losing that passion now. He’s not going to be able to do that same thing he’s done forever.’ But at the same time, I’ll be around a lot more. So they’re excited about that.”
Kobe has also been hard at work with different post-playing business ventures. Since officially announcing his NBA retirement, Kobe has looked to Oscar winning movie director Steven Spielberg for help with getting his own movie production company: Kobe Studios, off the ground. He has also teamed up with long time partner Nike in order to travel around the globe as part of his Mamba Mentality Tour. However none of these things will occupy his time more than a brand new baby girl.
Congrats Kobe and Vanessa! Good luck with the newest Baby Mamba.
