In 2015, Lamar Odom was found unresponsive inside of a Nevada brothel. His body contained a copious amount of drugs and placed him in a coma. Now, the former pro-basketball player is speaking out on that incident and states the Love Ranch owner, Dennis Hof, reportedly played a role in his overdose.
“Dennis Hof, I don’t know what he had against me, but I didn’t do drugs that night, to be honest with you,” Odom said on The View, per TMZ. “So I don’t know he tried to poison me or…” Odom added that he did not seek out any drugs. In October 2018, Hof died at age 72.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Odom said his memory has deteriorated but he’s thankful to still be alive. “I always knew I had a strong will. I think my will is even stronger than I believed it was. It’s a testament that God is good,” he said. “When I woke up [from the coma] and I couldn’t talk or walk I never thought I would be here. I never thought I would play basketball again or talk to you. Just to be here is a win for me.”
The 39-year-old recently published his memoir, Darkness to Light, which recounts his previous marriage to Khloe Kardashian, his career, alcohol addiction and more.
