Lebron James and Cleveland pretty much are tied at the hip, or at least for the next three years. It’s reported King James signed a three-year $100 million contract with the Cavs and intends to bring another championship back to the city.
James made his return back to Cleveland in 2014 and vowed to bring the city a championship. The 31 year old made good on his promise this past NBA season when he showed tremendous leadership leading his team back from a 3-1 deficit against the 73-win Golden State Warriors.
While it isn’t certain if there are any opt outs within the contract, James made it certain shortly after the team won the title that his heart was with his hometown.
“I love it here. I love being here. I love my teammates,” James told Cleveland.com. “Obviously my agent will take care of all the logistical things but, I’m happy.” He didn’t guarantee that he would come back to Cleveland, but it certainly appeared that way, even though he could have made more money elsewhere.”
James is staying home and will most likely try and defend the title this NBA season. Congrats to King James.
