Five-year-old Leah Still has inspired and touched the hearts of many across the world. But her resilience in her battle against cancer has stopped one athlete in his tracks. Famed NBA player, LeBron James, shared an encouraging note with Leah on how she inspires him to win against all odds.
In an Instagram post, King James showcased his praise for Leah’s strength ahead of her cancer treatment appointment the following day. “Last treatment session today was a success and we’re off and running like never before,” he wrote. “Continue to inspire me as well as so many others. Uncle LeBron loves you so much and we’re going to play Barbie house/tea party all together very soon.”
Leah attended Wednesday’s game (Jan. 6) between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards, and according to James, she brought the team some luck in their 121-115 win over the Wizards. Her father, Devon Still, also shared the moment on Instagram, writing, “Well turn up then boo! She was hype they came out with the win tonight #LeahStrong she a true fat girl tho everything stopped when that popcorn dropped.”

Had got tix to the Wizards vs Cavs game tonight so Leah could see her favorite bball player in action before her treatment. Ended up not being able to go because I had to fly to Houston but as you can see Leah wasn’t about to let that stop her from seeing @kingjames tonight 😂😂😂😂 #iCantBlameHer #iStillLoveYouEvenThoYouWentWithoutMe #ThoughtWeWasATeam lol
Leah was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in July 2014. A year later, the ESPYS awarded her with the Jimmy V Perseverance award for keeping her head up despite the illness, and received her own Wheaties Cereal box.

In a post game interview, James spoke on the good luck charm in the stands. “I knew she was going to be there tonight, and her and Zhuri, my baby girl, are my two favorite women in the world,” he told ESPN. “They’re just unbelievable. I know my mom and my wife will be a little bit jealous, but they got to take a backseat to those two. Just her strength and her courage and what she’s been through over the last few years, man, it’s uplifting to all of us, and it’s always great seeing her, for sure.”
