Last Saturday (April 12), boxer Manny Pacquiao not only reclaimed the WBO welterweight world title after going 12 rounds against Timothy Bradley, Jr., but raked in a cool $20 million.
Still, Pacman wasn’t selfish about his victory and opted to give back to his native Philippines by auctioning off his bloody boxing trunks for $40,000.
TMZ Sports reports:
After the April 12th fight, Manny decided to donate his shorts, gloves and other boxing memorabilia — to help raise money for the victims of January’s super typhoon in The Philippines.
The auction went down at the Beverly Hills estate of Victorino Noval — where entry into the party ran $1,000 per head.
A rep for the event confirms the blood-stained shorts — a result of the headbutt in Manny’s fight with Bradley — were bought by a private bidder for $40k. The identity of the winner has not been released.
The Filipino congressman even treated the crowd to a little music by singing “Still” by the group Hillsong. See if his vocals match his boxing game below.
