Apparently Lady Gaga performing at the Super Bowl halftime show wasn’t enough to get the people going. Now, fans have formed a petition on Change.org, calling for the Migos to replace Gaga at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Organizers’ call for a trade comes shortly after the Atlanta Falcons made it to the championship. “Very Simple, the Atlanta Falcons are in the Super Bowl and it’s gonna be in Houston. Two of the TRILLEST hip hop communities under ONE ROOF. Your entertainment choices have to change RIGHT NOW,” the petition’s statement reads. In addition to suggesting that Migos perform their No. 1 hit “Bad and Boujee,” the petition also demands that a number of other trap artists should be invited to perform as well.
“Andre 3000 should sing the national anthem with Erykah Badu. By sing I mean hit Donald Trump with a FIRE 64 bars,” the statement says, adding that Future should perform “March Madness,” while Bun B and Jay Z do “Big Pimpin.” The petition also suggests that the pre show should reflect the location and team’s musical influence, by getting Rae Sremmurd,Gucci Mane, Goodie Mob, Ludacris, and Young Jeezy, to take the stage.
In response to the petition, the rap trio say they are up for the challenge despite the short notice. “Let’s do it. We’re ready to f—ing perform,” Quavo said. The petition has already reached more than 57,000 signatures out of its 75,000 goal. The chances of a Gaga-Migos switch up actually happening is pretty slim, considering the “Perfect Illusion” singer has already dished on her plan for the big halftime set. But fans shouldn’t rule out a guest appearance just yet. The Super Bowl featuring the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots will air on Feb. 5. So fans will have to just wait on it.
