With the NBA Trade Deadline approaching, there are rumors swirling about potential trades and big name stars ending up in different locations, and plenty of fake trade rumors to go along with them.
Well, Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl has admitted to occasionally telling a few fibs just to get a rise out of the media.
“We tell fibs and lies …We make up some trade that never was proposed in 100 years and suddenly it’s on ESPN.” Karl stated in a interview with the Cleveland.com. Karl goes on further in his book Ball Don’t Lie by admitting to holding a contest with a group of unmade associates to create the most extreme rumor to see how far in the press it’ll go and didn’t specify who won.
With rumors surrounding Josh Smith, Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol, the anxiety and anticipation leading up to this Trade deadline will be at a all-time high. But who knows how many are fake trade rumors?
