Adding that the situation is most unfair to the Clippers’ players and coaches – who lead the series 2-1 against the Golden State Warriors and are scheduled for Game 4 today (Apr. 27) – Silver also stated that he was in contact with both Doc Rivers and Chris Paul. He ended his statement with a diplomatic conclusion: that consequences will not be discussed until the NBA’s completes its investigation.
“Let me just add that all members of the NBA family should be afforded due process and a fair opportunity to present their side of any controversy, which is why I am not yet prepared to discuss any potential sanctions against Donald Sterling. We will however, move extraordinarily quickly in our investigation.”
Silver also added that Sterling has agreed to not attend today’s game.
