
From living rooms to barbershops, the question of the greatest MC’s always stirs up good conversation. President Obama threw his opinion in the ring on great lyricist when he called into Sway in the Morning. POTUS said his two favorite rappers are Kendrick Lamar and Chance the Rapper while still claiming Jay Z is still the king.
The Commander In Chief showed respect to the 6 God and said his daughters, love him as well. “He’s commercially doing great and [he’s] unbelievably talented” Obama said. He followed this statement by acknowledging Jay Z saying “Jay-Z is still the king, I mean he’s got a track record. Same with Kanye so yeah there’s a lot of talent out there.”
Obama also spoke about his love for the newer artist K. Dot appreciating his ground breaking good work. He proceeded by calling Chance the Rapper family saying that he knew him from the age of 8 through his father who was his state director when he was senator of Illinois.
He took this this same segment to predict a Golden State Championship this year as well as a Tom Brady takeover when asked about this next years NBA and NFL finals.
