Serena Williams can cue Drake’s “Trophies” yet again after earning her 20th Grand Slam title in Paris today (Jun. 6). Edging out Lucie Safarova 6-3, 6-7, 6-2, Williams snagged her third French Open title, and is now just two tournament wins away from tying the Open-era title of 22, currently held by Steffi Graf.
The latest to accomplish the feat since 2001, this marks Williams’ second major tournament win of the year, after grabbing a ‘W’ at the Australian Open in January. In a hard-fought match against Safarova, Williams overcame a bout with the flu virus and a late comeback by her opponent to send the match into its third set. Setting her 8-0 record in stone, Williams remained undefeated in deciding sets.

Williams has now won all of the Glam Slam events at least twice. She complimented Safarova in French upon her win.
“Lucie played very well, she was a magnificent opponent,” she said. “It was a dream for me to win.”
Who gon’ stop her, huh?
