How far would you go in order to evade the cops? Ecuadorian soccer player Enner Valencia took it rather far when he faked an injury after learning the authorities were planning to take him into custody for failure to pay $17,000 in child support.
Before Ecuador’s World Cup qualifier match last Thursday (Oct. 6), a lawyer and a police officer tried to apprehend Valencia during a morning training session prior to the game but failed to do so. The second attempt came when the team’s bus was stopped on the way to the match but he was not taken into custody.
The leading striker helped his team take a demanding 3-0 victory over Chile but in the 82nd minute he faked an injury as was escorted off the field in a golf cart all while police were in pursuit.
