Always promoting healthy living and nature’s best veggies, FLOTUS took to Instagram Tuesday (April 5) to share a clip from the couple’s visit in February. With turnips in hand, the group jams out to the 2013 EDM hit, “Turn Down For What.”
The video is also a bit of a homage to Obama’s 2014 viral vine, “Turnip For What.” Speaking with The Washington Post, Obama’s chief of staff Tina Tchen says the Obama’s clever use of social media has helped them reach a larger audience (cough, the youth.)
Referring to President Barack Obama’s freestyle with “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tchen explains the Obama’s approach has been lax and frankly more fun, during his final term.
“The ability to … put out a viral video, and you can hit tens of millions of people, and it doesn’t cost you anything — that’s pretty remarkable,” Tchen said. “We in the East Wing have the ability to be a little freer … to do a rap video — though I guess now the president does rap videos too, now that it’s his second term.”
Social media has helped the Curry’s as well. Ayesha Curry is on her way to the Food Network with At Home with Ayesha, inspired by her YouTube artisanal show, Little Lights Of Mine.
