
Renowned and respected sportscaster Stuart Scott will be posthumously honored at the second annual Clio Sports Awards for his contributions to sports broadcasting. It was announced Thursday (May 28) the former ESPN anchor will receive a lifetime achievement award, which will also be named after him.

“Our family’s pride in Stuart’s achievements is exceeded only by our appreciation that his name graces an award recognized as the gold standard for excellence in sports marketing and advertising. We are, and know Stuart would be, humbled by this remarkable honor,” the Scott family said in a statement.
Hosted by former NFL running back Tiki Barber, the second annual award ceremony will take place July 8 with Scott’s surviving family members accepting the award on his behalf.
“His lifetime of exceptional work defines CLIO Sports, and is an example for us all. We’re honored to celebrate Stuart’s life and career alongside his family this year,” Clio president Nicole Purcell said in a statement.
Scott was 49 year old when he died in January after losing his battle to cancer, and received an outpouring of love and condolences from many in music, entertainment and sports.
