When Tiger Woods showed up in Italy to surprise his girlfriend ski racer Lindsey Vonn today (Jan. 19) as she snagged her record-breaking 63rd World Cup title, he was missing something: a tooth. Photographed with a visible gap in his mouth beneath his skeleton-patterned scarf, the golfer’s agent, Mark Steinberg, shared what led to the missing tooth.
“During a crush of photographers at the awards’ podium at the World Cup event in Italy, a media member with a shoulder-mounted video camera pushed and surged towards the stage, turned and hit Tiger Woods in the mouth. Woods’s tooth was knocked out by the incident,” Steinberg wrote in a statement.
Woods’ agent did not specify when he would get the tooth replaced. The golfer is set to return to the green next week at the Phoenix Open.
