10 Artists Mase Needs To Work With On His New Album 'Now We Even'

October 24, 2013 - 4:58 pm by Chris Yuscavage

He's baaaaaaack! After taking nearly a decade off, Mase announced that he's going to release a new album called Now We Even sometime in the near future. He didn't specify when it will be out or what record label it will come out on, but he did reveal a few of the artists that he would like to make guest appearances on the album. Those artists include Drake, Jay Z, Lauryn Hill, 2 Chainz, Seal (WTF?) and Cee Lo Green.

But why stop there? Mase is Mase, after all, and we're betting that he could get just about anyone to agree to appear on his album. So we think he should aim to get the biggest, most interesting guest appearances possible. With that in mind, we put together a list of the 10 artists Mase needs to work with on his new album, Now We Even.

The Artist: Kanye West Why Mase Needs Him On Now We Even: In the past, Ye has talked about the influence that Mase had on him at the beginning of his career. So now that Mase is attempting another comeback, he should ask Mr. West to repay the favor by giving him a verse for his album. We bet Yeezy could come up with something extra crazy for Mase's album. And who knows? If things go well, he might even agree to take on a larger role on the album, which would be a win for everyone. Photo Credit: Mass Appeal

The Artist: Cam'Ron Why Mase Needs Him On Now We Even: We forget…are these on speaking terms right now?! It seems like every other year they get into some sort of beef and then call it off after going back and forth for a couple weeks. Whatever the case, they're both grown men at this point in their careers, so they should be able to put aside whatever differences they have for one day to get into the studio together. It's a Harlem thing, fellas. Let's make it happen. Photo Credit: Rap-Up

The Artist: A$AP Rocky Why Mase Needs Him On Now We Even: Speaking of repping Harlem, A$AP Rocky is the latest rapper to make it big out of the area. But Mase has been repping that part of New York City for a long time now. So it's only right for the new school and the old school to get together for a track on Mase's album. Photo Credit: Pop Crush

The Artist: Jadakiss Why Mase Needs Him On Now We Even: Last year, after Mase made an appearance on Wale's "Slight Work (Remix)," 'Kiss came out and told Mase that if he was going to make a comeback, he had to do it right. "He's got to let me know that he's dead serious," he said. "He keep coming back for a short cup of coffee [and] then leaves. He's got to stay for breakfast if he's going to come back." Well, it sounds like Mase is ready for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Now we just need his former Bad Boy label mate to sit down and eat with him. Photo Credit: AllHipHop

The Artist: R. Kelly Why Mase Needs Him On Now We Even: Kells is about to make a comeback of his own. Thanks to his contribution to Lady Gaga's new single, "Do What U Want," we're predicting that he's going to be in high demand in the near future. So Mase should snap him up now and get him on a track. He's going to need some good R&B features if he wants to get back to being the old Mase. So why not give R. Kelly a shot? Photo Credit: Atrilli

The Artist: DMX Why Mase Needs Him On Now We Even: Remember Mase and DMX on "24 Hours To Live"? Wheeeeeeew. We need a second helping of that. In fact, while Mase is at it, he may as well call The LOX and Black Rob up, too, and have them try to reenact what they were able to do on their first posse cut together. Photo Credit: Gossip

The Artist: 50 Cent Why Mase Needs Him On Now We Even: Back in 2006, Mase teamed up with G-Unit for a brief period of time and recorded his DJ Whoo Kid mixtape, Crucified 4 The Hood. And it was surprisingly pretty good. We don't know if Fif and Mase are on good terms anymore. But if the G-Unit general could help bring that Mase back for a song, we wouldn't be mad at all. The Artist: Mariah Carey Why Mase Needs Her On Now We Even: Just like Mase, Mariah Carey is planning to make yet another comeback sometime later this year or early next with a new album called The Art of Letting Go. So while she's at it, she should also lend her vocals to a Mase track to see if the two can recapture the magic they made back in 1997 when they recorded "Honey." Mase could obviously use some of her star power to prove that he's serious about recording a solid album. Photo Credit: Popdust

The Artist: Rick Ross Why Mase Needs Him On Now We Even: Rick Ross used Mase to get some free publicity when he snapped a photo with the former Bad Boy rapper and put it up online last year. So Mase should use Ross now to get some publicity for his album. Plus, Ross isn't shy about contributing guest verses anyway, so this should really be a no-brainer. Photo Credit: AllHipHop

The Artist: Diddy Why Mase Needs Him On Now We Even: When is the last time that Mase and Diddy recorded a song together? Ummm…we can't even remember. But it needs to happen, and it needs to happen soon. You could make the argument that neither of these guys would be as big as they are today without the other. So if Mase really does put together a new album, he needs Diddy on it. Otherwise, it just won't feel like a Mase album. Photo Credit: AllHipHop
