Look On The Bright Side: 10 Good Things About Howard University Homecoming 2013

October 29, 2013 - 6:32 pm by VIBE

Howard University Homecoming 2013 was supposed to be Epic. Last year's undisputedly Legendary homecoming set the bar pretty high (2 Chainz, Pusha T, Meek Mill, T.I., Beenie Man, Elle Varner and Drake anyone?), and attendees -- some of whom flew in from out of town -- were expecting similarly epic stories to brag about to their friends. Unfortunately, this year things went terribly wrong.

Between the $5-15 Yardfest tickets, a news-making riot resulting in multiple injuries, delayed performance times and failing to deliver on scheduled acts (Juicy J, A$AP Ferg and surprise performers Waka Flocka Flame and Drake were all there but never even hit the stage), the Homecoming experience came off to many as an epic fail.

But we have to keep it real, it wasn't all bad. From the funny moments to the ones you might not quite remember (sobriety, what?), here are 10 reasons why this year's homecoming was still something to smile about.

9. Drake was there again… backstage. Even though he never got to make his second surprise performance, if you think about it, you partied with Drizzy for a day.
