10 Producers Jay-Z Should Enlist For A ‘Magna Carta’ EDM Remix Album
The past few weeks have given us a taste of some of the most anticipated new releases of the summer. Kanye’s Yeezus, J. Cole’s Born Sinner, and Wale’s The Gifted are just a few of the latest records to drop within the elite class of hip-hop heavies. Of course Jay-Z’s certified platinum 12th album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, is no exception. All Hova albums are followed by a wave of remixes – most are mediocre, but some are quite impressive. Hip-hop is malleable, especially if you happen to be Mr. Carter – he is not ignorant to the who’s who of trendsetters among dance music. “On To The Next One” from The Blueprint 3 sampled from French house music duo, Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E.” On Jay and Kanye’s collaborative album, Watch The Throne, a Flux Pavilion hook and instrumentation (“I Can’t Stop) was used for “Who Gon Stop Me.”
We are daydreaming about the many remix possibilities that could come from Jay’s most recent project. While a trap remix to MCHG’s “Picasso Baby” would be catchy – it wouldn’t be completely distinctive as it's almost become standard to hear a trap remix of a hip-hop track. Though MCHG has received mixed reviews, one fact remains: Jay plays by his own set of rules as an artist.
Who is game to play by the #newrules? Here's 10 producers who are fit to be remixers of MCHG the EDM Remix album. -->
