The Rapper: 50 Cent
The Album He Was Supposed To Release: Street King Immortal
What He Gave Us Instead: 50 released a pair of singles this year—"Major Distribution," featuring Snoop Dogg and Young Jeezy, and "We Up," featuring Kendrick Lamar—and also announced that he'll be putting out a project called Animal Ambition in January.
Will The Album Drop In 2014? We sure hope so. Fif has been working on SKI since 2010. So if it doesn't drop next year, he'll probably end up scrapping the project altogether.

The Rapper: Nicki Minaj
The Album She Was Supposed To Release: Pink Friday: The Pinkprint
What She Gave Us Instead: Although she didn't release her third album, Ms. Minaj stayed busy by appearing on songs with everyone from Ciara to Mario to Busta Rhymes.
Will The Album Drop In 2014? Yes. Nicki is already working on the album and says that she'll return to her "hip-hop roots" on the project.

The Rapper: Fabolous
The Album He Was Supposed To Release: Loso's Way 2: Rise to Power
What He Gave Us Instead: Fab has actually been pretty quiet this year as far as music goes. But on Christmas Day, he's going to release his new mixtape, The S.O.U.L. Tape 3.
Will The Album Drop In 2014? Yes. Because Fab was so quiet and didn't release a ton of new music, we are going to assume that he was working on lots of new stuff. So 2014 should be the year he releases it.

The Rapper: Rick Ross
The Album He Was Supposed To Release: Mastermind
What He Gave Us Instead: He didn't release any solo albums this year. But he did drop Self Made Vol. 3 at the end of the summer alongside Meek Mill, Wale, and the rest of the Maybach Music Group rappers and singers.
Will The Album Drop In 2014? Yes. Ross is putting the finishing touches on it now. "It's coming soon," he said recently. "Top of the year. Still gotta put a few details into it. I got to. Everybody'll thank me later."

The Rapper: Azealia Banks
The Album She Was Supposed To Release: Broke with Expensive Taste
What She Gave Us Instead: Back in April, she dropped "Yung Rapunxel," the first single from her debut album. She also dropped a second single called "ATM Jam," produced by Pharrell, in September.
Will The Album Drop In 2014? Probably. Neither of Azealia's singles took off like she wanted them to. But her album is still currently scheduled to hit stores at the beginning of next year.

The Album He Was Supposed To Release: Oxymoron
What He Gave Us Instead: Several songs that are going to be featured on his new album, including "Yay Yay" and "Collard Greens," featuring Kendrick Lamar, were released throughout the year.
Will The Album Drop In 2014? Yes. After numerous delays, TDE recently announced that Oxymoron will finally drop in February.

The Rapper: Gunplay
The Album He Was Supposed To Release: Living Legend
What He Gave Us Instead: Throughout the year, Gunplay dropped a pair of mixtapes, Cops & Robbers and Acquitted, and a handful of street singles and also appeared on Maybach Music Group's Self Made Vol. 3 at the end of the summer.
Will The Album Drop In 2014? It should…but don't hold your breath. At the moment, everything still seems to be TBD with regards to Gunplay. So we wouldn't be surprised if Ross held him back for one more year in order to let him continue to build his buzz.

The Rapper: Lupe Fiasco
The Album He Was Supposed To Release: Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 2
What He Gave Us Instead: In October, Lupe teamed up with Ed Sheeran to release his new single, "Old School Love." He also dropped a number of freestyles over the course of the year.
Will The Album Drop In 2014? Yes, but it's no longer going by the original title. Rather than drop a sequel to Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, Lupe is going to hit us with an album called Tetsuo & Youth sometime next year.

The Rappers: Wu-Tang Clan
The Album They Were Supposed To Release: A Better Tomorrow
What They Gave Us Instead: In June, Wu-Tang released a new song called "Family Reunion." But outside of that, they didn't release anything as a group.
Will The Album Drop In 2014? It's not likely. We would love to see it released. But several members of the Clan, including RZA and Raekwon, seem to be on shaky terms at the moment. So we're not sure how realistic a new Wu album is right now.

The Rapper: Jay Electronica
The Album He Was Supposed To Release: Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn)
What He Gave Us Instead: He contributed a verse to Big Sean's "Control" in August and also made some other random guest appearances on songs from Mac Miller, The Bullitts and Rapsody.
Will The Album Drop In 2014? HA. Unless Jay is going to shock the world and release his album out of the blue like Beyoncé just did, don't count on it. Maybe in 2015?
