Before he was “Skrillex” Sonny Moore’s moniker was “Twipz.”
Moore started toiling in the music studio when at age 13, he downloaded the music production system, FL Studio.
At 16, The now-OWSLA label head joined EMO band, From First To Last, as lead singer. He actually wanted to play guitar. When Skrillex quit due to problems with his vocal chords, he later admitted that singing was never his real passion.
When Skrillex first met surviving members of The Doors to co-produce “Breakin’ A Sweat,” Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger didn’t know who he was, but admitted their kids were huge fans and really excited their fathers were getting to meet Skrillex.
Sonny's quarter fade became so iconic it inspired parody video, “Girl, You Got Skrillex Hair”

Sonny has been a huge fan of Korn since age nine, so when he got to produce tracks on their Path Of Totality album it was kind of a big deal.
