10 Unlikely Hip-Hop and R&B Duets We'd Like to See Happen

Lil' Kim MaryJ.Blige
This duet exudes the perfect amount of ladylike glamour and hood swag. While staking their claim with the same force as the men in the game, Mary and Kim remained fashionable and fabulous. There’s no question that these two can do it again, with Lil’ Kim gearing up for a comeback.

Ja Rule and Ashanti
Don't front, you miss when R.U.L.E. ran the game. All of his rap-sung hits were the premiere hip-hop of an era, and his style has made it's way into the game permanently. As for Ashanti, she was never hotter than when she always the first lady of Murder, Inc.

Nas and Lauryn Hill
“If I Ruled the World” still reigns as one of the most iconic hip-hop duets of all time, and for good reason. The prolific Queensbridge representer and former Fugee starlet exuded the dopest chemistry. And if we ruled the world, they would come back and take us to school again, 16 years later.

Jay-Z and R.Kelly
These two are just like fine wine. Kellz showed us he still had it with "Love Letter," and do we even have to say anything about Hov at this point? It was a no-brainer in '02, and would still be a deadly combination ten years later. 'Nuff said.

The Game and 50 Cent
Though this may be one of the least likely re-collabos on our list, it could be the jolt they both need to reclaim their places in the hip-hop game. Fif will always be a business man, but will he ever be as prominent as when he was the G-Unit commander-in-chief? No question a reconciliation would do wonders for The Game as well.

Mary J. Blige and Method Man
Though Mary and Meth did team back up in '04 with "Love at First Sight," we see no reason why this duo couldn't do it again. "You're All I Need" opened a can of worms; there's no such thing as "enough" of these two (there's just something about that '90s bounce).

Method Man and Redman
Mr. Mef and Funk Doc were arguably the illest twosome in the game with classics like "Da Rockwilder" still being a favorite of true hip-hop heads. Though they have done a few track together in recent years, we're ready for that Blackout! 3 album, and we bet they still got it.

Mase and Diddy
"Nobody could touch Puff back when Puff had it," and Ma$e was part of the reason why. These two put on their shiny suits, jumped around and made hip-hop magic. If they teamed back up they would surely have a new sound, but the energy would no doubt be the same. And that's really all that matters.

Timbaland and Missy
Have Miss and Timbo ever disappointed us? From helping to define an entire decade of hip-hop to thrusting other stars onto the scene (R.I.P. Aaliyah), this duo can't fail. We miss the quirky sound that was uniquely their own, and believe there is still room for its reincarnation. Our bet: they could walk in the studio this very second and shell out a hit, effortlessly.

Eminem and Dr Dre
"Guilty Conscience" was in one word: sick. Em as the eminent bad guy and Dre playing the voice of reason over a catchy bass-heavy beat made for a comical story, but more importantly, an insane bar-by-bar tag team. Since Detox is taking forever and a day, these two have plenty of time to quench our thirst. Part two, perhaps?
