5 Things We Want To Hear Nicki Minaj Do On Her Next Album

#1. We want to hear Nicki rap. Like, really RAP.
Nicki already said she plans on doing more straight rapping on her third album. Clearly, she's set on proving she's one of the best in the game. We just hope she sticks to her word and revives those sick verses we fell in love with (she's been impressive on other people's songs this year). Her previous album had tons of pop hits, which was great for her career. But fans are in the mood for Mixtape Nicki.

#2. We want to hear Nicki respond to Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse.
Nicki recently addressed the fact that Kendrick Lamar didn't name-drop her on "Control," saying she thought he probably didn't do it because he's too much of a "gentleman." Even though she wasn't named specifically, we all know she deserved to be mentioned alongside the rappers who were referenced. We hope she stakes her claim as the Queen of New York on this third album and proves why she deserves the title.

#3. We want to hear Nicki talk about what happened to her relationship with Drake.
On his song, "Tuscan Leather," Drake mentioned that he had a falling out with Nicki awhile back. So it wouldn't be right for Nicki to make an album and not address it. Even if it was a minor tiff, we hope she makes mention of that situation and also touches on more personal things she's gone through in the last year and a half. In fact, she should give Drake's Nothing Was the Same a bunch of spins before she starts recording, just to see how personal we'd like her to get.

#4. We want to hear Nicki work with producers that she's never worked with before.
Nicki's last album had songs produced by Hit-Boy and T-Minus, but it also featured tracks from the likes of RedOne and Dr. Luke. That led to the album having a decidedly pop feel. That's all well and good. But we hope she's open to working with fresh faces on her new project so it sounds like nothing she's recorded before.

#5. We want to hear Nicki do less singing.
If you can't tell by now, we didn't love the pop feel that Roman Reloaded had. Some of it was OK. But Nicki really beat us over the head with radio records on her second album. She could avoid doing that on album three by simply reducing the number of songs that employ her lovely pop pipes. Some singing is good, but we'd prefer to hear Nicki spitting more than harmonizing.
