Rihanna Reads CiaraRemember when this beef broke the Internet? Ciara told 106 & Park that she didn’t think “Rihanna was a good person” after meeting here. The war of words played out on Twitter, and the Rihanna Navy and C-Squad camped out in each other’s mentions for days.
Not even DJ Clue could've squashed this. The two made up days later, but the messiness could not be denied. RiRi set up the blueprint as to how a read works, slyly pointing out Ciara's lack of fans (see above).
Phaedra Parks Reads Kenya MooreIn the read heard 'round the world, Phaedra Parks (the mother of "Fix it, Jesus) told off her Real Housewives of Atlanta cast mate Kenya Moore during Bravo's reunion special.
Phaedra minced no words, stating at one point: “You don’t know if your baby daddy will be an axe murderer or a child molester. What you will know is that he needed $10 to get him a medium-size pizza so he ejaculated in a cup so you could have a kid. Now check that." Even OUR feelings were hurt.
Tichina Arnold Reads French MontanaPamela James from Herbie Hancock Apartments teamed up with her crazy cousin Tammy and gave French Montana the tongue lashing of a lifetime. After French reposted a less than flattering photo of Tichina Arnold on an airplane to his followers, Tichina got wind of this statement and read him from the acknowledgements to the glossary. See what she said above.
Nicki Minaj Reads Mariah Carey (and vice versa)Consider this a double read. Two years ago, when Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj shared the same stage as American Idol judges, they had an obvious distaste for each other. From Nicki telling Mariah to “simmer down” to Mariah reading Nicki about not having a Billboard 100 song and claimed “It is a hard feat,” they pulled no punches.
When TMZ leaked footage of an irate Nicki Minaj, everyone thought Nicki won the battle. But when Mariah "forgot" who Nicki Minaj was in an interview, we knew the only thing elusive about Mimi was her whistle register, and her reading skills. Of course, Nicki had a Twitter read in the canon:
All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that.— PillsNPotions (@NICKIMINAJ) May 2, 2013
Bwaha! Burn? Shes sad i tied her record for Hot 100 entries in only 3 years of being in the game. Yep, a black female rapper @perezhilton— PillsNPotions (@NICKIMINAJ) May 2, 2013
Omorosa Reads Bethenny FrankelOmarosa may have appeared on Apprentice, but her reads have quickly elevated her to Master. Bethenny bet Omarosa $10,000 if Omarosa could prove she had a real career. When Omarosa gathered her receipts, she proved that Bethenny had indeed said the insulting remark. Bethenny, feeling embarrassed in front of her viewers, felt slighted by Omarosa.
Fast forward some months later, and Omarosa appeared on Bethenny's television show. Omarosa told the world that Bethenny gets rewarded for being mediocre due to her white privilege. “It’s different for you and I. I’m an African American woman. You get to walk around, be mediocre and still get rewarded we have to be exceptional to get anything in this business," said O. "I think it’s important to understand that you don’t stay a decade in reality television without being smart. And without a brand that people want to see. If the audience didn’t want to see Omarosa they wouldn’t have booked me. Which is why you booked me on YOUR show."
When the audience gasped, I held onto a nebulizer and did a wall slide inside of Chic-Fil-A. Check out the clip below:

Prince Reads Lil MoPrince and Lil Mo do not see it for each other. Scratch that. Lil Mo doesn’t see it for Prince. We don’t know if Prince knows about Lil Mo. And while this one-sided "beef" may seem petty to some, this had the Internets in an uproar. This past weekend, Prince performed a set at Essence Fest, and while he made his grand entrance to the stage, Lil Mo’ got annoyed because she was being bumped around and “pushed around."
Mo took her frustration to Instagram and people with smartphones took screenshots. She’s since deleted her Instagram post, but it read: “had VIP passes to meander the whole super dome dude talmbout ‘we gotta hold the walkthrough cuz PRINCE coming through the back. I don’t want to see him, I had to PEE.” She then shaded his vocal ability with a pic. Prince proved that Twitter elders can put on a show just as well as the young'ns. While he posted some tweets about the incident, he deleted most of them but kept one (above).
Lesson learned: Don’t mess with Prince.
