They Did That: 'Elle' Captures Alvin Ailey Dancers In Motion For Swimwear Shoot

Elle Magazine recently snagged four lucky dancers from the renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for an empowering, athletic-style swimsuit photo shoot.

Dancers Belen Pereyra, Samantha Figgins, Danica Paulos, and Fana Tesfagiorgis modeled the fly gear, flaunting off their toned, athletic builds. Elle captured the ladies in motion, as they posed and pirouetted to perfection, making for a spectacular shoot. The ladies also dished on body confidence and their own personal experiences with body insecurities.

"I like to stand in the mirror and instead of focusing on the negatives, I try to find all the things I love about myself and my body. I do that with all areas of my life," Figgins told Elle. “I don’t weight myself,” Pereyra admitted. “There was a time that the numbers dictated my happiness, but now it is solely based on how I feel in my clothes.” Fellow dancer, Tesfagiorgis, added, “I thank God for every part of my body, and I try to use my weaknesses as inspiration to guide my training.”
